This site used to be part of Irlam and Cadishead Community College but was excluded from a recent college redevelopment and subsequently became surplus to the council’s requirements.

 

The design of 14 affordable homes creates a mix of terrace and semi-detached blocks to reflect the variety of Victorian and Edwardian housing types in the road. As an infill the development creates a visually strong and secure street frontage with open views to the rear, and the massing and scale of windows is sympathetic to the neighbourhood.

 

On-site parking is provided and due to the need to remove a frontage of mature trees the design incorporates new landscaping with replacement trees.
