Reddish Community Hub within Reddish Baths, Fire Station and Library Reddish, Stockport

Reddish Building Preservation Trust and Stockport MBC for the community of Reddish

Reddish Baths, Fire Station and Library was built in 1918.

Locally listed, the buildings demonstrate a unique mix of three public service functions within a single development.

The library is still open but the swimming pool closed in 2006 and, along with the fire station, has remained unused and subsequently suffered vandalism and decay of the structure and fabric.

The council are working towards transferring the building as an asset transfer and and the building forming a community hub, retaining the library and introducing other community functions which would be transferred from other locations.

We have assisted Reddish Building Preservation Trust and the local community to survey the building and prepare plans and ideas for future uses, which culminated in the presentation to the community and council of a Vision in 2012.

In 2015 Pulse Regeneration prepared a business plan to show the feasibility of RBPT’s objectives and this has been presented to the council.
